Feedback-Michael
Good work Mike. I suggest some adjustments: Keep the hair, fur more transparent that means less opaque brighness, you can see through the colour of the background here and there. Clean the fur a little to have better definition for legs, necks....and the most important : soften and the brushstroke should not too straight, rigid.

Feedback: Kris, Shen
Kris- Use more ref for the horse( mainly the head with right lighting) and the girl will help . The main difficulty for the girl is how and where the light should look on her. Even your own photo with right lighting will give an idea and make thing easier. She should be lighter more for better result. SOFTEN the blending and less sharp details on her. The woman body should look smooth and soft...!! Also use some ref. for the cliff in the background . You don't have to do much s but it have look interesting, convincing and right.
Always put your ref. side by side with your artwork while working. Don t work from memory and after what we presume.

Shen- The overall and horse head look good. It 's not an easy view to do. Just need fine tune some details on the head and readjust the shoulder and the chest of the horse . I re positioned the cloud formation to stop the sliding down movement to much , keeping the focus on the subject. See some modifications here.

Shen Jia - Week 10 (WIP)
I completely repainted the clouds because I realized that it had the exact opposite lighting of the rest of the composition.
To be honest, I liked how it looked before. 😛
I'm also thinking of removing the tail of the cat-ball and stop trying to make it look like a cat.😅
Do you have any suggestions on the composition before I move to colour?

Week 9-10 (Démie)
Hello, here's where I'm at with the horse; really not nearly done >_<
A lot of light & shadows still missing (mostly on the character), and details, like the folding of her cloths... I'm also thinking about filling the woods with fireflies...

Horse Piece Update/Change
So I wasnt enjoying where my piece was going, I decided to make a new composition, It still requires work but I am much happier with it.
Week 9
Hey Charles, this is what I've done so far. The background is rough because I want to focus the eye on the subject. Any advices? Thank you for your time!

Tarik - 2nd work
Here's where I am at now. Still some issues with the horses legs I don't like them, They are too stiff. And a small perspective issue. Any advice would be great on this before I put the last polishing touch.

Shen Jia - Week 09 (WIP)
Horse muscles are strange from this angle...
Cats however are even more strange...

Week 8 (Démie)
I didn't like what I had done last week. Didn't feel on the right track...
I found another idea, based on a photo ref.
I was ready to post this one around 16h, but then, I saw Mr Vinh's comment on Kris's work... and I could tell that I did the "too much detail / camouflage texture" too... So I kept working...
So I guess that's what was actually asked. And it does make sense. I did have a better overview of the thumbnails and took the opportunity to play even more with the tones, mostly between the horse, the horse equipment, the rider's outfit and the background. I mostly used 3 tones (25/50/75%) but here and there, I did used 35/40% or 60/65% to make sure that nothing "disappears" because of bad value planing :P
Tarik - Week8
Here's where I am at. Close to finish I think. I cropped it, it wasn't working and I prefer to put the focus on the character.
Feedback: Kris`s
Hi Kris, you have to keep your tone study very simple with flat tone as much as possible to see the contrast between these masses . Not to much effect and details, they tend to break your whole design in many pieces ( look again your design, what you have right now is the camouflage effect) and you can not see clearly the contrast between those masses.: the mass of the horse against the girl. The girl against the sky, the rock,. The ground beside the horse etc....
About the drawing, readjust the girl face. less hair on top. The spacing of nose to chin was a little too long, I lowered the whole face feature: eyes, nose, mouth down a little more
You need some reference for the 2 back legs of the horse for the right position of galloping horse
My tone study is just an example, you may want to change the tones, positions, sizes... of different masses
